Amsterdam, 7-10 October, 2007: The 44th Congress of the European Societies of Toxicology. Don’t miss it!
On behalf of the local organising committee I cordially invite the international toxicological community to participate in the 44th Congress of the European Societies of Toxicology, to be held in Amsterdam from 7-10 October, 2007. The Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre, located in the south of Amsterdam and only 8 minutes by train from the international airport Schiphol is an excellent place to hold the Congress. Moreover, Amsterdam is one of the leading cities in Europe with impressive 17th century architecture and famous musea like the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum.
Of course the major reason for you as toxicologist to attend the conference will be its scientific programme with symposia and workshop dealing with state-of-the-art and newly emerging exciting topics in the multidisciplinary field of Toxicology, as well as an exhibition with many surprises. A large number of speakers from many countries will present the most recent scientific discoveries and practices in the various areas of Toxicology.
The congress offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas on a variety of timely topics, including, for example, the newest developments in toxicogenomics, alternatives for animals testing, risk assessment, immunotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, environmental toxicity, genotoxicity and carcinogenesis, endocrine disruption, molecular toxicology, signal transduction, the risks of nanotechnology, REACH and idiosyncratic effects.
The congress thus will provide an ideal opportunity for all participants to discuss and debate their own special interests and priorities with experts and colleagues.
The theme of the meeting is “Missing links”. In the multidisciplinary field of toxicology with rapid developments, for instance in analytical and “omics”-based techniques and bioinformatics, defining the missing links has become more important than ever. This because definition of the missing links will help making new links to bridge gaps between disciplines and techniques thereby facilitating new discoveries. Toxicologists do have the tools and knowledge to define the missing links and to develop the networks to make the new links required for 21st century toxicology.
In addition to enjoying the exciting science, we trust you will also find opportunities to visit other places and relax among friends. To promote interaction between the participants in an informal way, a social evening has been planned on Tuesday night in the music theatre “Stopera”, featuring a wonderful event.
In addition, interesting excursions to visit sites of special interest in Amsterdam can be readily organized for the accompanying persons.
Given all the above, we sincerely hope that you will plan to come to Amsterdam next October. We are sure that this Number One Toxicology congress in Europe will provide you with intense interaction with your peers and induce new creative ideas for your own work.
